The Norwalk Philatelic Exhibition (known as NORPEX), takes place in March each year. We produce a souvenir Show cover each year with artwork for the cachet designed by club member Chris Calle and cancellation designed by club member Fred Gagliardi.
Each year, the club decides on a theme – usually a nationally significant historic event – and prepares a specially illustrated cachet which, in cooperation with the U.S. Postal Service, is cancelled with a unique postmark for the occasion.
Since 1977, the Norwalk Stamp Club has hosted this popular annual exhibition, which is typically attended by more than a dozen dealers who bring a global inventory of more than 750,000 stamps and other philatelic material. They serve the needs of hundreds of collectors who attend the one-day show.
It's the longest-running stamp show in the region.
These colorful covers have become highly prized and collectible souvenirs. NORPEX commemorative covers are available for $2.50.
Those who want to order by mail can send a self-addressed envelope to

Alice Paul ( 1885–1977 ) was one of the main leaders and strategists of the campaign for ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits sex discrimination in the right to vote. She was honored on this 1995 definitive stamp in the Great Americans Series.
A Connecticut resident during the last years of her life, Ms. Paul fought valiantly for women’s suffrage and her vision of full equality under the law. The award-winning 2004 HBO film, Iron-Jawed Angels, dramatized the story of Paul and her colleagues. She was inducted into the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame in 1994.
