The Norwalk Stamp Club was founded in 1962 as a non-profit organization for the purpose of benefitting fellow collectors and encouraging the growth of our hobby to a wide variety of publics.
Through the efforts and philatelic influence of Judge J. Richard Fay,
Norwalk became the site of the First Day of Issue Ceremony for the Senator Brien McMahon stamp issued on July 29, 1962 in conjunction with the first NORPEX show.
The club meets on the first and third Mondays of each month from September through May, at the Norwalk Senior Center, 11 Allen Road, Norwalk, Connecticut.
We are members of the American Philatelic Society.
With a regular attendance of between 15 and 20 members, meetings provide unique opportunities to focus on a specialized aspect of the hobby; learn from expert presentations; trade, sell or buy philatelic items from one another; discuss personal collections; stay abreast of upcoming issues, new trends and techniques; participate in planning the next version of NORPEX; socialize over refreshments – and even play an occasional stamp-themed version of JEOPARDY!
